The GET-UP project successfully held its 2nd Transnational Meeting from May 29–30, 2026, in the beautiful city of València, Spain. Hosted at the Trinitarios Building by the Universidad Católica de Valencia, partners gathered to advance strategies for fostering life skills and social inclusion of homeless people through outdoor activities.
Here is a breakdown of what took place during this productive two-day meeting:
Day 1: Workshops & Research Insights (Friday, 29 May)
Hands-on Workshops: Partners participated in practical sessions, including a “Bar for the Blind” workshop and a demonstration of the “Joelette Chair for People with Reduced Mobility,” followed by a session on facilitation and transfer processes.
Research & Learning: After a brief introduction to experiential learning, the team dived deep into preliminary research analysis focusing on both homeless individuals and professionals in the field.
Day 2: Intervention Design & Next Steps (Saturday, 30 May)
Co-Creating the GET-UP Intervention: The second day focused entirely on action. Partners engaged in an experiential design process interactive session to shape the project’s core sporting interventions.
Future Outlook: The meeting wrapped up with strategic planning regarding project dissemination, defining immediate next steps, and a final farewell lunch.
This meeting marked a major milestone in strengthening our methodologies and collaborative network to better serve vulnerable communities through the power of sport.
